Creating a single price tag

First, open the item details page for the item that you want to make a price tag for.  For this tutorial, we will use an Amana refrigeration, an ABB1924DES.  For instrcutions on how to open the item details page for a particular item, click here.  Once you get your item details page open, it should look something like the sample shown below.

You need to scroll down (to the bottom of the item details page) by dragging the scroll bar downward.

In the "Price Tags" section, click the "Create a new pricetag for this item" link.

A window will appear allowing you to select the template that you want to use for your price tag.

Notice how, under each template, the size of the tag is displayed.  For example, the template in the upper left, when printed, will be 3.75" x 5.25".

Also, next to the tags size, in parenthesis, is the part number for a price tag holder from Bardes that will fit this tag.  To order holders, call bardes (1-800-223-1357).  You will order using the part number specified under the template.  For example, if we were going to make tags for a sture using this 3.75" x 5.25" template, we would order holders from Bardes, part number 21035S.

Before we can proceed, we must select the template we want to use by clicking on it.

Assuming the template that you pick includes a price (almost every price tag does!) a message box will come up.  Click the OK button.

After clicking OK, the price properties window will come up  This windows allows you to put formula driven prices on your price tags.  This is primarly used when creating many tags at once (see creating multiple price tags).  For our purposes here, lets just ignore this dialog.  Scroll down to the bottom and click the "Use this price on your pricetag" button.

The price tag editor will now appear.  Initially, the template that we selectd earlier will be automatically filled with product data for the item that we are making a price tag for.

For instructions on how to customize, print or save this price tag, see the next tutorial, using the price tag editor.
